My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 11/18/2008

Where did the year go? I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how fast the time had flown. It's almost Christmas, but worst than that, our wedding day is approaching, Belle seems to grow up so quickly now and another year has gone. I'd just started to get use to 2007 and it's already the end of 2008, and before we know it, it'll be 2009. We'll be on our way to Cape Town shortly, in fact next week this time, we'll be well on our way. We're looking forward to our little angel meeting the family and for the family to meet her. We're excited about the reunion with loved ones. We're determined to make our wedding day a special celebration that will stay in all our guests' minds and for new acquaintences and friendships to develop from our union.

One year old!
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 10/2/2008
Belle is one today. The year had passed by so quickly. We're still feel extremely blessed with our little angel. It hasn't been all smiles and laughter every day, but it sure was a wonderful discovery of ourselves and our abilities to be the best parents for Belle. But through the teething and nightly drills, we got to be part of our little baby's development, and that we won't exchange for anything. Thanks for all the support, thoughts and prayers and please continue to do so.

11 Months ... and walking!
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 9/2/2008
Our gorgeous baby girl is walking. We are amazed at her progress and she continues to wow us with her personality and attitude. She even have (mini) tantrums where she throws herself on the floor if she doesn't get her way. We are 12 weeks away from her meeting our families and can't wait. She has  6 teeth now and we have to be careful not to get bitten (playfully). Twinkle twinkle little star and Itsy bitsy spider are her favorite songs.

First steps
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 8/10/2008
Belle is entering the walking world with force. She's been up and about for months now with her walker and moving the chairs or anything she can move, around the house. She's started standing independently clapping hands. She took her first steps on Friday at daycare and ever since it's been 2 steps here and 3 steps there with 5 second standing spells in between. Mom and dad have sore backs from walking little Belle around the house. She refuse to sit down or crawl anymore. It's with delight we announce our little girls' achievement to you.

10 Months old
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 8/2/2008
Belle is continuing to thrive. She's got amazing energy. Tooth number 3 is appearing and she's standing up more and more these days. She walks with assistance from mom or dad or anything that can be pushed around. So the movable furniture gets rearranged all the time. We have to leave her with a babysitter for the first time tomorrow when mom goes running a half marathon and dad playing photographer.

9 Months old
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 7/6/2008
Belle turned 9 months this past week. She's growing beautifully. She enjoys daycare and sometimes leap out of our arms to go play with her little mates. She's equally happy to see us at the end of the day though. She's strolling around the house with her walker and by holding onto the furniture. We are waiting in anticipation for those first independent steps. She is such a happy little soul and give us endless joy. She had a cold this past week and is still sporting a snotty nose, but it doesn't get her spirits down.

Worthy
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 6/25/2008
I salute all women today. Especially those suffering diseases and mental instability. I salute women considered 'strong' because they have to be for their family. I salute women who, with all odds against them, rise above their situations and thrive in this unstable society. I salute the young women with young families and wish them good fortune.

8 Months old
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 6/2/2008
Where did the time go? Our baby daughter is already 8 months old. She's such a cute busy little bee now. She's got so much character and attitude, that it stunts us into silence most of the time. She has a determined spirit and when madam wants something, she wants it. She's standing up against anything and everything she can get her hands on. She has two bottom teeth and still loves her food. She's not gaining weight excessively, but is nicely proportionate (in my opinion).

Happy Mother's Day
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 5/10/2008

I know that not every country celebrates Mother's Day today, but a happy and blessed day to every mother on this day and every day. The hope is always that one be spoiled by your loved ones and if you don't you tend to feel sorry for yourself. But if we live every day like we're special, as we're suppose to do, we will feel special.

Happy Mother's Day
