Ravensmead
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 5/26/2006
I have brought my Swedish partner, Thomas home recently. Yes, home to Ravensmead. It was his first visit to South Africa and also the first time he's met any of my family and friends. I am proud to say that he had an enjoyable time with me in Ravensmead. We're moving to Australia now, but my roots are firmly planted and not likely to be changed. Take pride in who you are and especially where you come from. Thank you ravensmead.co.za for linking me. Stay tuned for some gorgeous pics of Cape Town and our short break at home.

Friendship
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 5/3/2006
A man was exploring caves by the seashore.  In one of the caves he found  a
canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls.  It was like someone  had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake.

They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him.  As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!

Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls.  Each contained ...

Number 5
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 5/1/2006

MAY.
5th month of the year, can you believe it? Do you remember your New Year's resolution?
I ran 55km last week. I still have loads to do in fulfilling my New Year's resolution, but at least I'm still on tract.
'The only way you can hurt your body
is if you don't use it.'
Think about it.

New adventure
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 4/23/2006
As I'm about to embark on yet another adventure, I take refuge in 1 Peter 5:6-7. 'Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.'

Cynthia Fatyi
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 4/23/2006
My friend Cynthia needs a special mention today. Although I haven't heard from her in ages I know she's thinking of me and I hope she is doing well. I always think of her as a phenomenal woman. So, girlfriend, whatever you doing, know that I'm thinking of you too. I hope the weather is getting better for you by now. As I'm off to warmer climate, I'm thinking of all my friends in the 'not-so-warm' climates.

Easter
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 4/14/2006

What does easter mean to you? Has it become just another long weekend for sleep-ins and DIY's? To me it's about remembrance and embracing those memories. I especially remember those love ones that has passed on. Happy Easter everyone.

Purpose
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 4/6/2006
I have just finished reading the most remarkable book UGLY by Constance Briscoe. What a sad story. See my book review in FORUM.
It's unbelievable that there's people out there capable of hurting and humiliating their own flesh and blood to the extent described in this book. The lessons learned from this book is life inspiring. Constance overcame her mother's abuse and all obstacles in her way by making a promise to herself and living up to it.
We can all learn from this. Life is purposeful, I believe. Keep on dreaming and making rediculous promises to yourself. And live up to it!!!

Home
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/30/2006

The power of a strong relationship sustains us and gives us strength - it's that power in knowing, if I fail, my friend is still there, or if I fail I still have someone who loves me. It's the power in knowing that - no matter what - we have a Father who still loves us.
Your home is simply a means to take you to a greater end - a heavenly end. Working together as coheirs of eternal salvation is the foundation for the home.
