My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/30/2006

The power of a strong relationship sustains us and gives us strength - it's that power in knowing, if I fail, my friend is still there, or if I fail I still have someone who loves me. It's the power in knowing that - no matter what - we have a Father who still loves us.
Your home is simply a means to take you to a greater end - a heavenly end. Working together as coheirs of eternal salvation is the foundation for the home.

The mind... uhhmmm a funny thing
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/26/2006
What goes through your mind at this very moment? I did another half marathon today. All the way up in Edinburgh. It was a great weekend. We did some sight seeing yesterday. Keep your eye on the Photo Gallery for some pics.
So, we were saying something about the mind??? Well, I was lining up with all the runners at the start of today's race and I was looking around me. You know what I was looking at? Everybody else's behinds and sizing them up to my own. What a weird thing to do, don't you think? What goes through your mind when you look at people around you? Come on, tell us what went through your mind today.

On turning 40
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/24/2006

No, guys I have not turned 40, but I know of someone who did and a few more heading in that direction. One fab lady who turned 40 last year, is my friend Lucy. Janet turned 40 this week and my best friend later this year. Proverbs 3:13 especially for all the fabulous 40's out there.

Happy is the woman that findeth wisdom,
and the woman that getteth understanding.

My birthday prayer
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/17/2006

Lord, let us not pretend to be something we're not.
You knew us early in the morning; you knew us late at night. You know us when we're weak; you know us when we're strong.
Father, remind us that you still care and that you still love us.

Help us to see what is important, what is eternal,
and what is lasting.
Let us make decisions based on our eternal life
and not on temporary possessions.
Help us to put into practice the timeless truths found in your
Word.
And most of all, Father, Thank you for loving us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHERON AND DIANNE
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/6/2006
Yes, another birthday. And this day (7/3) belongs to my two gorgeous sisters. I'm sad for not being able to spend this day with them. Although I'll be thinking of them all day long and they're forever in my heart, I still wish I could be with them to give them a hug. Here's wishing them a wonderful day and all the best in the world.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARGO
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/4/2006

Happy birthday Margo. Wishing you all the best in the world. We have both lost the dearest person to our hearts and it feels like no birthday is ever gonna be the same. We miss them and we feel sad that they're not here to celebrate another birthday with us, in their own special way. But it's on day's like these that we must salute them and thank them for being a part of our lives the way they were. The choice is ours as to how we will keep them in our hearts and cherish their memories.
So, my dear sausage friend, we have a lot to be proud of and to raise our glasses to. Have a wonderful day. Wash those tears off your face, wash your hair, put some make-up on and go face the world.

A month for great people... MARCH
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/1/2006
Not just because it signals the start of spring (in the north) and autumn (in the south), but because so many genuinely nice people were born in this month. My two sisters, Sheron and Dianne (7th) share their birthday with the tennis-pro Ivan Lendl (7/03/1960). Just the day though, not the year. My friends Wayne (1st), Margo (4th), Joan (8th),Elroy (9th), cousin Denise (11th), Chipo (17th), Rene and Janet (22nd), Delene and David (25th), Rolinda (28th)and Thomas' dad, Dan celebrates his birthday on the 31st. Madge (see Diary entry 24/2) shares her birthday with Albert Einstein on the 14th. The president of Civil Right Activists, Tancredo Neves was born on 4th 1910. I share my big day with another queen, same day, same year. Your secret (age) is safe with me, Queen Latifah!!! Happy Birthday everybody.

'Madge' murder
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 2/24/2006
As part of my quest for 2006 (to get in shape.... really good shape), I spent my day off, in the gym. I did a B,L&T class and Bodypump afterwards. The instructor, Madge, is a 'killer'. She knows how to work you. It was so good seeing her after more than a year. She's simply one of the best group workout instructors I've encountered over 4 continents. She gets personal with the members in the class. She knows everybody by name and get to know their limitations. I don't know if I will be able to walk tomorrow, but I'm going back for more slaughtering next Friday. If I had every Friday off, then this is where you'll find me at mid-day: Being 'Madge' murdered.
