A month for great people... MARCH
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 3/1/2006
Not just because it signals the start of spring (in the north) and autumn (in the south), but because so many genuinely nice people were born in this month. My two sisters, Sheron and Dianne (7th) share their birthday with the tennis-pro Ivan Lendl (7/03/1960). Just the day though, not the year. My friends Wayne (1st), Margo (4th), Joan (8th),Elroy (9th), cousin Denise (11th), Chipo (17th), Rene and Janet (22nd), Delene and David (25th), Rolinda (28th)and Thomas' dad, Dan celebrates his birthday on the 31st. Madge (see Diary entry 24/2) shares her birthday with Albert Einstein on the 14th. The president of Civil Right Activists, Tancredo Neves was born on 4th 1910. I share my big day with another queen, same day, same year. Your secret (age) is safe with me, Queen Latifah!!! Happy Birthday everybody.

'Madge' murder
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 2/24/2006
As part of my quest for 2006 (to get in shape.... really good shape), I spent my day off, in the gym. I did a B,L&T class and Bodypump afterwards. The instructor, Madge, is a 'killer'. She knows how to work you. It was so good seeing her after more than a year. She's simply one of the best group workout instructors I've encountered over 4 continents. She gets personal with the members in the class. She knows everybody by name and get to know their limitations. I don't know if I will be able to walk tomorrow, but I'm going back for more slaughtering next Friday. If I had every Friday off, then this is where you'll find me at mid-day: Being 'Madge' murdered.

Conflict
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 2/9/2006
Conflict is inevitable, but combat is optional. Use your God-given creative energy to solve conflict before it escalates into combat. Perhaps the seeds you sow in your areas of conflict won't reach maturity tomorrow, next week, or even for a generation. Does that mean you shouldn't sow the seeds? No! It means you should sow the seeds immediately. Never underestimate the power of a seed of peace: the power of a kind word, a seed of apology, a phone call, an explanation. This is the way we serve a God of peace.

The day my heart broke....again
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 2/4/2006
I have experience a kind of sadness this week that I just can't describe. My mom passed away last August and I was sad then. My heart broke into a million peices and I was sure it will never ever heal again. This past week I experience a sadness that brought all those memories and feelings of my mom's passing straight back in my face. It was so intense and I was amazed and surprised because I thought my broken heart would never heal after last August. But I guess it must've because it fell into million little pieces again.
It's the kind of sadness that made me realise it's time to take stock of life and more and it's time to make decisions and changes that's in my interest for once. What brought all this on? Unaware incidences and betrayal of friendships.

Who says you're not a paid athlete?

For every mile you run, you're saving money on future medical bills.

January
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 1/27/2006

This month just seems to go on forever. Looking back at interesting events of the month, there's the African Cup of Nations currently in Egypt and the Australian Tennis Open in Melbourne. There are many great sporting events to look forward to this year. The Commonwealth games in Australia and the World Cup Football, just to name a few.

Who moved my cheese
My Diary By Elderene Claassen on 1/20/2006

Life is no straight and easy corridor along
which we travel free and unhampered,
but a maze of passages,
through which we must seek our way,
lost and confused, now and again
checked in a blind alley.

But always, if we have faith,
God will open a door for us,
not perhaps one that we ourselves
would ever have thought of,
but one that will ultimately
prove good for us.

A.J. Cronin - Who Moved My Cheese
